New Post Box!

I went to TK Maxx the other day and they finally have some new home items in. Very exciting! I got this post box made to store keys but I am going to use it for jewellery! (you might have already seen it in one of my photos of the day!).

Sewing For Pleasure

My Mom and I visited the Sewing For Pleasure Show at the NEC at the end of March. We go to this show every year as it is a fun day out and we always get lots of bargains. This year was no different, we had a great day out and got some amazing purchases! Here are some of the goodies we brought:

My Redecorated Bedroom!

Over the past few weeks I have redecorated my bedroom (with help from my Mom). Here’s how it looked before:

And here’s how it looked after we were finished:

I guess it doesn’t look drastically different as I kept the colour scheme the same.

We repainted the room just to freshen it up and purchased new furniture. My new furniture is the Hemnes range from Ikea. Sadly, we found out that they are discontinuing it this year. So if you have been drooling over it for ages (like I had) now is definitely the best time to buy it. The bedside table had £20 off and we got £50 off the wardrobe! You also get a £50 gift card if you spend a certain amount in the bedroom department (£300 or £400 I think?).

Sorting out all of my stuff took the longest time! I had to resort everything to get rid of the things I don’t want/use any more as I had less storage space.

So what do you think? What is your bedroom like?

Sewing History Part 4

Here are the final few items I made from 18-20 years old.

Loveheart dress. I never really liked this dress on me; it just wasn’t me so I decided to sell it.

Back

Silky embroidered dress. I loved this dress! So easy to wear and casual enough for daytime but fancy enough for a night out.

Back

Hello Kitty patch shift dress. This dress is so cute! Made the shift dress but it was so plain I never wore it so I added a scrap piece of lace cut into a heart, a hello kitty patch and decorative embroidery.

Polka dot dress.   Another one of my favourites. So cute. Perfect for all year. I was so sad when it didn’t fit me anymore. I found 2 pictures of me wearing it in 2008 (not great pictures – sorry!).

Paisley Maxi dress. I loved this dress but it came up too big and it was so heavy! So decided to sell.

Basic t shirt. Just a jersey t shirt for around the house.

Blue & Pink Tutu. So I needed something to wear for a neon night during Freshers so my Mom and I cut up loads of net and made this. Very fun to make and wear. Also customised the Freshers t shirt by ripping, cutting and tying.

During university I didn’t get much time for sewing but now I have graduated and have more time I’m going to get back into it and I cannot wait! I have way too many projects planned but hopefully I will be able to focus myself and finish off all my unfinished items and begin sewing a brand new spangly wardrobe!

Do you have any unfinished sewing items?

Some more of my items made from 18-20 years old that I do not have any more. Looking at the pictures I wish I had kept them all! Click on any image to see it full size.

My first jacket! Such a challenge but finished it with help from my Mom. Made from red linen with the coolest spiderweb lining.

1950’s wiggle halter dress. On the dummy this dress looks amazing, but I didn’t feel comfortable wearing it. Personally I thought it showed too much off as I don’t like low cut clothing, but the girl who brought it loved it.
