New Toad In The Hole Recipe

Yes I finally got round to trying out the new toad in the hole recipe! It is delicious, the whole family thoroughly enjoyed it so I will definitely be using it again!

Heres how it came out:

This is the recipe:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 200g plain flour
  • 4 tsp English mustard powder
  • 2 tsp Thyme
  • 2 eggs
  • 600ml milk
  • 8-16 Sausages (depending on your preferences)

Firstly, put the sausage in olive oil and place in the oven to roast.

Weigh and sieved the flour. Then add the eggs.

Next start to whisk the eggs and flour and slowly add the milk a bit at a time.

Next add the Thyme and the Mustard Powder.

Stir in the herbs.

Leave the batter to stand.

When the sausages are cooked add the batter then quickly place back in the over to cook on a high heat (gas mark 6/200C) for around 30-40 minutes or when golden and risen.
